The university administration expresses regret for causing temporary inconvenience
Dhaka University authorities have decided to keep the campus entrances closed ahead of the burial of Sharif Osman Hadi, urging all concerned to refrain from gathering on the campus in the interest of overall security.
According to a post on Inqilab Moncho’s official Facebook page, Hadi will be buried beside the grave of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam.
In a notice issued today, the university requested teachers, students, officers, employees, and people from all walks of life not to crowd the campus during the burial process.
The decision to close the campus entry points has been taken as part of security measures, the notice said.
The university administration also expressed regret for any temporary inconvenience caused to the general public due to the restrictions.
Hadi died at Singapore General Hospital on Thursday night. He had sustained critical injuries after being shot on December 12 following his election campaign in the capital’s Paltan area.
