The viral remark comes as Bangladesh prepares for general elections on February 12, the first since the fall of the Hasina-led government. Notably, the Jamaat’s election manifesto marks a departure from its earlier rhetoric. It calls for “peaceful and cooperative relations” with neighbouring countries, including India, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, the Maldives and Thailand, based on “mutual respect and fairness”.
