As military tensions between the US, Israel and Iran escalate into one of the most severe Middle East crises in years, former US Army Colonel Douglas Macgregor on Wednesday said all of the US bases in the Iranian region have been destroyed and that Tehran is fairing very well.
In a televised interview, clips of which are going viral on social media, Macgregor said, “China and Russia are providing satellite intelligence, which accounts for some of the tremendous successes [of Iran] particularly in Israel, and our US bases. All of our bases have been destroyed. Our harbour installations are destroyed. We actually have to fall back on India and Indian ports…I think Iran, much to our disappointment, is fairing very very well.”
The former US Army Colonel’s claims come even as US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday US has ‘obliterated’ Iranian military infrastructure–specifically its Navy, Air Force, and air defenses. Senior US military leadership describes the campaign as focused on degrading Iran’s offensive capabilities — not signaling a collapse of American bases or influence in the region.
Defence officials have acknowledged casualties on both sides, including at least four American service members killed in Iranian attacks.
Satellite imagery from Planet Labs has now confirmed claims made by a number of Iranian-affiliated channels over the last few days, that an Iranian one-way attack drone, or other projectile, was able to successful impact and significantly damage the U.S. Space Force’s AN/FPS-132… pic.twitter.com/9w2OmMMEex

The current confrontation erupted weeks ago after a coordinated campaign by US and Israeli forces against Iran, which included strikes on missile launchers, naval assets and other strategic sites. Tehran responded with waves of ballistic missiles and drones aimed at US facilities and allied positions across Iraq, Kuwait, the UAE and Bahrain.
Here’s a list of the places where Iran has targeted US assets and bases:

Bahrain — Iranian missiles and drones struck the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, located in Manama, prompting defensive alerts and some structural damage reported by local authorities.
Kuwait — Iran struck US assets in Kuwait, including at least three sites — such as Camp Arifjan and nearby operational centers.
Qatar — Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claimed attacked Qatar’s Al Udeid Air Base, one of the largest US military hubs in the Middle East.
UAE– Iran reportedly fired on US and allied bases in the UAE, including near Al Dhafra Air Base.
Jordan-Iranian strikes have also been reported at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, a site hosting US and allied aviation forces in Jordan.
