
STUDENTS and personnel were evacuated to safer ground as classes were temporarily halted following another bomb threat sent through social media at a Quezon City high school on Thursday morning.
Lawmen from the Police Station-7 immediately responded and secured the entire Ponciano Bernardo High School in Barangay Kaunlaran, Cubao.
Police said they received the report past 9 a. m. from the school authorities that got the initial information through one of the teachers who saw and read about the bomb threat from the school’s Facebook page.
Marlon Trinidad, 27, school teacher, told police that he we still at home when he read the message from one Bob Key Ser Panganiban who claimed that he planted a bomb at the school.
“May itinanim akong bomba sa elementary, sama-sama tayong mauubos (I planted a bomb at the elementary, we will all be wiped out),” the message said.
As of posting time, members of the ordnance and explosives unit of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) are still checking the entire school premises.
At least two incidents of bomb threats were reported and responded to by the police over the week.
The first one happened last Monday at the New Era Elementary School in Barangay Culiat and at the San Francisco High School in Barangay Sto. Cristo, Bago Bantay on Wednesday.
No explosives were found in these schools.
QCPD director BGen. Nicolas Torre 3rd has vowed to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and hold criminally liable these so-called pranksters.
