Renren.com Ties Knot With Japanese Partner For Marriage Website In China

Chinese social networking site Renren.com and Japanese human resources and Japanese media group Recruit Company Ltd. have reached an agreement to jointly establish a marriage-oriented social media platform in China.

Under the agreement signed by the two parties, they will jointly invest an undisclosed sum in this marriage social networking platform, which will fully integrate online contents related to wedding ceremonies and offline media resources to offer wedding services. This website is expected to be launched by the end of 2011.

In addition, Zexy magazine and a wedding exhibition company will join this new joint venture. As one of the first wedding information media companies in China, Zexy says it has accumulated a stable customer group and rich professional knowledge. Over years of operation, the company has gained good brand awareness in the Chinese wedding market.

Founded in 1960, Recruit Company Ltd. is one of the largest classified information service providers and information media providers in Japan; and it is also one of the major collective buying service providers in the country. The group entered the Chinese market in 2004 and it made strategic investment in 51job.com, a Chinese Internet recruitment website, in 2006. In May 2011, the group announced new investment in the Chinese classified information website 58.com.
