Pant’s signature on Team India jersey triggers meme fest
Hilarious memes and jokes flooded Twitter after Australian spinner Nathan Lyon shared a photo of Team India’s signed jersey which was gifted to him by stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane following the conclusion of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Lyon recorded his 100th Test appearance for the Baggy Greens in the memorable Gabba Test between Virat Kohli-less Team India and hosts Australia. However, Lyon’s outstanding achievement in the longest format was overshadowed by Team India’s thrilling series win at The Gabba.
Recollecting the fond memories he created with the Australian and Indian contingents in the whites, Lyon reflected on his memorable summer and shared the photo of the signed Team India jersey in one of his latest social media posts. Taking cognisance of Lyon’s post on Instagram, a host of Team India fans were quick to poke fun at Rishabh Pant’s signature. To felicitate the veteran Aussie spinner on his 100th Test Match at The Gabba, Rahane and Co. had signed a Team India jersey which was presented to Lyon before Rahane lifted the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Talking about Lyon’s post, the veteran spinner hailed Team India and also lauded Rahane’s sportsmanship.
“A massive congratulations to @ajinkyarahane and team India on the series win! Thank you also for your sportsmanship and the incredibly kind gesture of a signed Team India shirt. It will be a great addition to the man cave,” Lyon captioned his Instagram post on Wednesday. Team India led by stand in skipper Rahane punched above their weight to battle past the mighty Aussies in the recently concluded four-match Test series.
