A man who cycled 18,000km from his hometown in France to China to realise a Silk Road adventure dream has trended on social media in China.
Frenchman Killian Le Guyader, 24, began his journey in the northwestern city of Rennes at the beginning of this year.
He arrived in China not long ago and a video showing him standing on the Great Wall in Beijing went viral on mainland social media in early December.
“Mum, I made it. I rode from France to China, covering 18,000km and crossing more than 30 countries. This is the highlight of my life,” Le Guyader says in the clip.

“It is awesome to stand on the Great Wall. What a big success this is for me,” he said.
“I want to send this victory to all patients with Lyme disease and chronic illnesses. I have been tortured by Lyme disease for three years and I know how difficult it is to endure the treatment.
“If I successfully fought against the disease and realised my dream of cycling to China, other people can turn their dream into a reality. Everything is possible,” he added.
