MANILA, Philippines – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. extended the deadline to file income tax returns (ITRs) for 2025 by a month to May 15, the chief executive announced on Tuesday, April 14.
The one-month extension will give taxpayers more time to properly file their ITRs without incurring penalties. ITRs filings were originally due on Wednesday, April 15.
“Ginawa natin ito para mas magaan ang pagbabayad ng bawat Pilipino, lalo na sa panahong ramdam ang pagtaas ng presyo ng langis,” Marcos wrote in a Facebook post on his official page.
(We extended the deadline to make it easier for every Filipino to settle their dues, especially at a time when the rising costs of fuel are felt.)
Taxpayers may file their returns through the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s online platforms or through authorized agent banks. – Rappler.com
