‘I want my brother back’, writes Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka as she joins Twitter trend ‘say no to Bollywood’ | Hindi Movie News – Bollywood – Times of India
‘Nepotism can co-exist and nothing would happen but at the same time, if you deliberately don’t allow the right talent to come up, then there is a problem. Then the whole structure of the industry would collapse one day. But till then, it’s fine.’ – Sushant Singh Rajput. Sushant is not in our midst anymore. The talented actor passed away last year unexpectedly. What the actor said about nepotism may have struck the right chords. But the thing is, it’s ‘not’ fine. At least for his fans and his family who to this day believe that ‘nepotism’ may have likely played a part is pushing him towards depression. And they have been voicing it out loud and clear ever since SSR’s passing on June 14. Now, his sister, Priyanka, too, has come out in support of her brother’s fans. Taking to Twitter, she said, ‘Say no to Bollywood… I want my brother back. #sushant.’ Priyanka’s tweet comes at a time when Sushant’s fans are trending #SayNoToBollywood yet again, to highlight the alleged nepotistic practises in the industry. Nepotism, as we are all aware, has been a burning debate ever since Sushant’s passing. SSR’s fans feel the right opportunities were snatched from him and given to star kids with little or less talent. They dragged Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Kapoor in the controversy, even trending #BoycottStarKids many times. Fans also blame filmmaker Karan Johar, among others for giving opportunities to celebrity kids when there are far more deserving actors trying to make it with their genuine talent. Under hashtag #SayNoToBollywood, fans are writing messages such as, ‘Bollywood kept quiet when their voices were needed most and has only covered Sushant when it could benefit them…’; ‘I didn’t watch any movie, series, serial from 14th june and will continue the same, will teach same to my son’; ‘With Sushant demise,my love for Bollywood disappeared forever,The glamour was lost With our shining star Sushant’; ‘#SayNoToBollywood Bollywood’s nepotism didn’t start with Karan Johar. But it must end with Sushant Singh Rajput’. Presently, Sushant’s death case is being investigated by the CBI, ED and NCB. Recently, the NCB arrested the peddler who allegedly provided drugs to Sushant. Sameer Wankhede of the Narcotics Control Bureau was quoted as saying, ‘Three persons including one person who was providing drugs to Bollywood actor late Sushant Singh Rajput have been arrested by NCB in Goa.’
