As Facebook joins the race for the Metaverse, Chinese tech companies face hurdles
After Mark Zuckerberg announced on October 28th that Facebook Change changed its name to Meta Platforms Inc., Chinese tech giants tried to secure their positions in space–despite strict warnings from Chinese regulators about the metaverse.
The metaverse refers to a hypothetical next iteration of the Internet consisting of 3D virtual online environments that people can access through virtual reality headsets, smartphones, PCs, game consoles, and other devices.
