Vaishalee Thakkar enjoys being on social media as it keeps people connected with what’s happening around. She says, “Another advantage is that the medium also helps you get to know about everything that is happening in the world.”

She is not bothered about her following or whether her posts are getting enough views or not. “The number of followers has never been a concern. I enjoy my time online. I don’t quite need a social media detox ever as I don’t indulge in it too much,” she adds.

The Saath Nibhaana Saathiya 2 actress feels that some people take this too seriously, which isn’t good for their mental health. She says, “According to me, one should never forget that social media interactions are virtual interactions. Secondly, more than anything else, it can turn into an addiction. In a make-believe world, you can’t put your self-confidence at stake in number games of likes and followers.”

People also make personal and professional announcements on social media these days. However, she says, “Sharing professional news… I understand that. But, I don’t see any point in why one would want to inform others about what they are eating at so and so’s place or someone’s cousin got married and how thrilled they are. I am sure fans love such updates, hence a lot of people post such things. But for me it is really difficult to understand why anyone would be interested in my cousin’s wedding or baby shower or graduation,” she says.
