Young rising stars on RJ’s 80th
THE country’s rock ‘n’ roll icon Ramon “RJ” Jacinto turns 80 on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. He will celebrate with a special birthday show at Bistro RJ, Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati, featuring young rising stars paying tribute to classic artists.
Frank Sinatra and Michael Bublé will be interpreted by Milo Ibrado, Elvis Presley by Bam Angping, Dean Martin by David Young, Pavarotti and Josh Groban by Nathan Randal, Karen Carpenter by Aquila Packing, and Amy Winehouse by influencer Mix Fenix.
Bistro RJ, home of rock ‘n’ roll, is now in its 40th year, making it the longest-running live music lounge catering to three generations.
Over his 65-year journey, RJ pioneered through radio station DZRJ, discovering icons like Sampaguita, Juan Dela Cruz Band, APO Hiking Society, and Andrew E. Founded in his backyard in 1963, DZRJ revolutionized local airwaves with the latest US hits.
RJ also founded RJ Guitars in 1988, now exporting globally. RJ Guitar Center will hold its birthday sale from May 31 to June 1 in stores and online, with discounts peaking at 50 percent from 9 p.m. to mall closing.
