2 men taken to hospital after 4-car chain collision near Changi Airport
SINGAPORE – Two men were taken to hospital after a chain collision near Changi Airport on the night of Nov 2.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to an accident involving four cars along Airport Boulevard towards Changi Airport at about 9.05pm.
A 57-year-old male driver and a 30-year-old male passenger were taken conscious to Changi General Hospital, they said.
Photos posted on Facebook page SGRV Front Man show a car with its rear severely crushed. Another vehicle, also with a damaged rear, is seen some distance away.
A police car and an SCDF ambulance are seen at the site.
Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
According to the
Traffic Police’s (TP) mid-year report
, the number of accidents resulting in injuries rose from 3,437 in the first half of 2024 to 3,740 in the first six months of 2025. These led to 4,860 people being injured, up from 4,665 in the same period the year before.
TP said road traffic accidents and casualties have been increasing over the past three years, with the number of people killed or injured in accidents reaching a five-year high in 2024.
