Jeremy Jacquet update
Liverpool remain linked with a potential swoop for Rennes defender Jeremy Jacquet before the January transfer window closes.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Liverpool are accompanied by Chelsea in showing interest in Jacquet and are holding talks with Rennes ahead of Monday’s deadline.
However, despite Liverpool holding discussions with the Ligue 1 outfit, even if a deal is struck, the defender wouldn’t arrive at Anfield until the summer at the very earliest.
This is because the French side are adamant that a January departure is completely out of the question, despite suggestions that a move could be completed in the coming days.
Bayern Munich have also been previously touted as potential suitors for Jacquet, but recent reports suggest that a switch to the Bundesliga heavyweights is “unlikely” at present.
Wataru Endo stance
There’s been a development regarding Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo’s future, with the Japan international reportedly catching the eye of clubs ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.
Voetbal Primeur claims that Ajax are keen on bringing Endo to Amsterdam, but won’t find it straightforward to seal a deal.
The report adds that Endo is deemed “unattainable” during this transfer window, with Ajax apparently giving up i their chase for the midfielder.
Manuel Ugarte (Manchester United), Christian Norgaard (Arsenal) and Lucas Torreira (Galatasaray) have also been earmarked as possible midfield additions for Ajax, but none appear set to depart their current clubs before the deadline.
