A former Emmerdale actress has announced she’s joined a rival soap, sharing her delight in a clip from the set.

Kelli Hollis first appeared in Emmerdale in 2011 as Ali Spencer, mother to Sean (Luke Roskell) and Amelia (Daisy Campbell). The character departed the soap for Liverpool in 2015, before being killed off-screen in a car crash in 2018.

After leaving the soap, Kelli relocated to Thailand, embarking on an unexpected career change. The television star ended up managing a “weed bar” named La Choza Pratumnak in the Asian nation, where cannabis is permitted for personal consumption.

However, Kelli has now revealed she’s returned to Britain and secured a part on rival soap Coronation Street. Posting on TikTok, she shared footage from her debut day on set with the caption: “MY 1ST DAY AT CORRIE. SO EXCITING.

“Oh my god! What a morning! So I’m here at Corrie, I’m exhausted, and it’s not from working. I’ve done two scenes already this morning, I’ve got two more now this afternoon,” she revealed to followers from her dressing room, reports the Daily Star.

Kelli continued, “But I’m exhausted from seeing everybody. The amount of crew that I’ve worked with before on other jobs that are here, phenomenal!”.

“And then let’s talk about the cast. So our beautiful Jane [Hazlegrove], I worked with her on Clink, she heard I was here, and she came running up.”

Kelli continued: “And the most handsome man ever, apart from my Martin, the gorgeous Aaron McClusker. He come bounding in picked me up spun me around. I’ve been made to feel so welcome. What a brilliant day so far.”

While her character remains under wraps, supporters have flooded the comments section expressing their enthusiasm about Kelli’s Corrie debut. One viewer gushed, “Wow, I can’t wait to watch you.”

Another devotee remarked: “Omg love Corrie. You’re such an amazing actress.” A third fan enthusiastically declared: “Ooooohhhh exciting times. So Happy for you.”

Previously, Kelli spoke candidly about her surprising new chapter in Pattaya, where partner Martin helps her run the La Choza Pratumnak bar.

“You only live once, and I have learned that a lot over the last few years, losing friends to things and my friend losing a child, and it just makes you assess a lot of things in your life,” she told Daily Star.

She added: “You just have to do what you have to do because you are not promised tomorrow, are you? My mentality now is I am nearly 50, f*** it, will just do it. There is no point having that ‘oh God, I can’t do this, and I can’t do that’ attitude. I have been so fortunate in my life that opportunities have come my way.”
