Converge welcomes Mikey Williams

MANILA, Philippines — Two-time PBA champion guard Mikey Williams has been formally welcomed by his new team Converhe in post at the team’s official social media accounts on Wednesday.
“The wait is over. Mikey Williams is now a FiberXer. Welcome to #PurpleNation!” the Converge squad posted in its social media accounts.
The mercurial Fil-American combo guard is expected to bring a solid boost at the FiberXers’ backcourt, as he joins Alec Stockton and talented rookie Juan Gomez De Liano.
The 34-year-old Williams has been out of commission for the last three years since leading TNT to the 2023 PBA Governors’ Cup crown while subsequently being named Finals Most Valuable Player.
The Tropang 5G shipped Williams’ rights to the FiberXers in exchange for Jordan Heading in June 2025.
The 6-foot-2 gunner though did not play for Converge right away as both parties went on a back-and-forth contract negotiations first. Williams will make his much-awaited debut with Converge in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup with the team kicking off its campaign against guest team Macau Black Bears on March 11.
