Dear ST reader,

There is a new man at the helm of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS) secretariat with Badri Ghent, former sporting director of Lion City Sailors, appointed as its general secretary on Sept 1.

Meanwhile, the late swimmer Colin Soon, who won multiple gold medals for the Republic at the Asean Para Games, has been honoured with the theme song for the World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore.

In other news, a social media post by local celebrity Norfasarie Mohd Yahya has gone viral, after she alleged that her son was dropped from the national under-16 football team for skipping an overseas training stint to prepare for his exams. The FAS sent out a lengthy statement in response.
