Blue Lock live-action film unveils team Z cast ahead of summer 2026 release
The highly anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular soccer manga Blue Lock has revealed key cast members for Team Z through stunning character visuals, building excitement ahead of its summer 2026 release. Announced progressively via official social media in late January–early February 2026, these visuals highlight actors embodying the intense “egoist” strikers from Japan’s high-stakes training program.
Fumiya Takahashi stars as protagonist Yoichi Isagi, depicted in a dynamic visual with the tagline “Ego awakens,” capturing the character’s growth from average player to fierce competitor.
Kaito Sakurai portrays the eccentric Meguru Bachira, Kyōhei Takahashi plays speedy Hyoma Chigiri, and Kōta Nomura takes on power forward Rensuke Kunigami.

Recent additions include Shunya Asano as Wataru Kuon (revealed Wednesday), Yuki Sakurai as Yudai Imamura (Thursday), and Yūki Kura as Ryosuke Kira (Friday), each with tailored visuals showing piercing eyes and soccer-ready poses from the teaser campaign.
Additional Team Z members feature Yuzu Aoki as Gurimu Igarashi, Shō Nishigaki as Asahi Naruhaya, Yūki Tachibana as Gin Gagamaru, Raizō Ishikawa as Jingo Raichi, Joey Iwanaga as Okuhito Iemon, and more.
Produced by CREDEUS and distributed by Toho, the film began filming in mid-September 2025 following the announcement at “Blue Lock Egoist Festa 2025” in Tokyo.
The cast underwent rigorous training under professional soccer players for about 1.5 years to authentically depict the manga’s brutal Blue Lock project, where 300 young talents compete for Japan’s ace striker spot post-2018 World Cup failure. Teaser visuals initially teased with composite eyes of Team Z’s 12 members under “Ego gathers,” fueling fan speculation before individual reveals.
Slated for a summer 2026 premiere, aligning with World Cup hype, the film adapts Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura‘s manga, which inspired a 2022 anime, its spinoff Episode Nagi, and upcoming Season 3.
