Indian woman left emotional after stranger fanned her baby on Singapore metro

What began as an exhausting ride home after a day at Singapore’s Universal Studios turned into a memory that an Indian woman says she will never forget. A simple act of kindness from a stranger on a crowded metro has now touched thousands online after she shared the story on Instagram.

Sakshi, an Indian woman living in Singapore, recently posted a video recounting an incident that left her emotional. She explained that she had just left Universal Studios with her baby when she boarded a packed MRT train on a particularly hot day.

“In Singapore, we had just come out of Universal Studios, and it was very hot. My baby was asleep on my shoulder, and we were both sweating a lot,” she recalled.

According to Sakshi, the train was crowded, but several passengers immediately noticed her situation. “As soon as I stepped inside the metro, five to six people, literally five to six people, stood up to offer me their seat,” she said.

However, before she could sit down, another passenger rushed ahead and occupied one of the seats. Sakshi claimed the woman appeared to be an Indian in her late 30s or early 40s and did not seem to have any visible health issues.

Fortunately, the story did not end there.

Another woman soon stood up and offered Sakshi a seat. But what happened next is what stayed with her long after the journey ended.

“She stood up, and all this while, mind you, for a straight 15 minutes of my journey, she was continuously fanning me and my baby. I’ll never forget this,” Sakshi said.

The stranger continued fanning both mother and child throughout the ride, helping them stay comfortable in the crowded coach. When Sakshi thanked her before getting off, the woman reportedly brushed aside the gratitude.

“No worries, it is my duty. Because you are raising a future generation, I know how difficult it can be to roam with a baby,” she told her.
