India vs Australia: Prithvi Shaw trolled on social media after his bizarre throw nearly injures Rohit Sharma
It is amazing how India batsman Prithvi Shaw manages to become the butt of jokes on social media even when he is not in the playing XI of the match.
On Friday, that’s exactly what happened. Shaw was on the field as a substitute fielder for the injured Navdeep Saini, who reported some pain the groin and was later taken for scans, and he almost managed to injure Rohit Sharma.
Friendly fire

The incident took place in the 53rd over when Washington Sundar was bowling to Marnus Labuschagne, who pushed the ball to midwicket and tried to take a quick single.
Shaw picked up the ball and tried to have a go at the non-striker’s end. What he did not notice was that India vice-captain Rohit Sharma was on the path of his throw.
Sharma was caught off-guard and tried to block the ball in reflex, and ended up stinging his finger. The look that Sharma gave Shaw was of irritation.
India cannot afford another injury as they are already playing without 5-6 of their main players. On Friday, it only got worse when Saini was taken for scans after going out in the 36th over of the match. India played out Day 1 of the Brisbane Test with one bowler short.
Social media erupted soon after the Shaw incident took place with many claiming that this was the only way he can make a place into team India now – by injuring Rohit Sharma.

You drop Prithvi Shaw? He’ll injure the other opener to take the slot back.
