Watch: Final Moments Before Zubeen Garg Took The Fatal Scuba Dive Goes Viral; Assam Mourns Its Heartthrob

A video of the final moments of singer Zubeen Garg (52) from Singapore has surfaced on social media. In the video, the Assamese heartthrob is seen on a cruise ahead of his scheduled performance at the North East Festival. He was wearing a life jacket before taking a dive. The rest of the crew is seen frolicking as Garg took his first dive and emerged.
However, the video cut short of the second dive, post which Zubeen was rushed to the Singapore General Hospital, where he was declared deceased at 2:30 pm on September 19, 2025. Per reports, the Ya Ali (Gangster, 2006) singer was given CPR as he emerged breathless after the dive.

As the state mourns its legendary son, Zubeen’s fans flocked to comfort the singer’s family. The musician’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, broke down while addressing the crowd of hundreds gathered outside their Kahilipara residence.

In the wake of the tragic demise of Zubee Garg, Assam’s CM has ordered an investigation. He also stated that multiple FIRs filed against the organizer of the North East Festival in SIngapore will be consolidated into one. In his tweet Hemanta Biswa Sarma stated

I have directed the @DGPAssamPolice to transfer all the FIRs to the CID and to register a consolidated case for a thorough investigation.”
